We were approached by a start-up developing software within the emerging blockchain industry. Placing themselves within the highly regulated space of stocks and shares, Vega wanted their brand and visual language to feel disruptive and subversive.
Although a change in approach and a major shift in the business model rendered our solution unusable, we loved the opportunity to have fun and purposefully challenge the status quo.
Inspired by the ever-changing values of stocks, we designed a logo and type system that could fluctuate, allowing each letter to inherit varying weights of the brand typeface. This resulted in a set of 24 individual logotypes, but with one visual concept in common.
We paired this graphical system with a disorderly “glitch” graphic. The team were actively provoking the stocks and shares market and this somewhat uncomfortable approach fitted perfect with their wayward mentality.
