Teaching Shop

Teaching Shop is a digital learning resource for those in the education sector. In 2011, the founders recognised the importance of e-learning as well as an opportunity to work towards creating a library of ebooks and resources for teachers.

We were asked to devise the brand identity and accompanying website for the new e-learning resource.



With an anticipated crowded market about to open up in the wake of ebooks and online resources, it was important to create an identity that would allow Teaching Shop to stand tall against other publishers.

The brand needed to be distinct and likeable, while also inspiring teachers to delve more into online and interactive content within the classroom.



During mood boarding phases exploring Teaching Shop’s identity, we identified three features that we encompassed in the logo. The wise owl, a key symbol of education and learning framed the logo. The ‘v’ of an open book influenced the marque’s brow, while the shield shape was inspired by traditional blazer badges.

A collection of illustrations helped give the brand personality and likability, at the same time enabling Teaching Shop to use these styles and illustrations in promotional literature, both on and offline.
